Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, accompanied by members of his government, laid a wreath of flowers at Place Toussaint Louverture, in the Champ de Mars, on April 7, 2026. The ceremony marked the 223rd anniversary of the passing of the Forebearer of Haiti’s Independence. On this occasion, the head of government recalled that Toussaint’s legacy remains a source of inspiration, calling for national unity and the reconstruction of the country around the values of freedom, justice, and sovereignty.
