Russia and China vetoed on Tuesday a UN Security Council resolution calling for the unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz, encouraging the escort of ships, a text already far from the green light demanded by the Gulf countries to free it by force.

Russia and China vetoed on Tuesday a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for the unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz, encouraging the escort of ships, a text already far from the green light demanded by the Gulf countries to free it by force.

The draft resolution prepared by Bahrain and supported by the Gulf countries and the United States received 11 votes in favor, two against, and two abstentions.
