The Government of Japan has granted the World Food Programme (WFP) an additional funding of 1 million US dollars in order to support the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) in Haiti. “Without this funding, which allows UNHAS to continue flying across the country and to reach the capital, humanitarian organizations would not be able to respond to the critical needs of the Haitian population,” said Wanja Kaaria, Country Director and WFP Representative in Haiti.
