In the aftermath of the tragedy at the Citadelle Laferrière in the municipality of Milot, the Kenbe Kapòw Collective expressed its outrage at the event, which claimed several lives.
In a public statement, the organization asserts that this situation cannot be considered a simple accident. It cites “flagrant negligence” and, in its words, blames a lack of supervision and safety measures during this event, which brought together a large number of participants.
The collective maintains that those present at the site were exposed without sufficient preventative measures, denouncing in particular the absence of adequate emergency infrastructure.
“Too many lives were lost,” the organization states, calling for accountability in the management of this event.
