The Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center hosted taekwondo qualifications this Thursday, April 9, for the Central American and Caribbean Games. In a competitive event, the Haitian delegation managed to distinguish itself with three athletes qualified out of the eight entered, despite two last-minute withdrawals from the ten initially registered. The Haitian performance is highlighted by the direct qualification of Ava Soon Lee, number one in the Pan-American zone, who was exempted from fighting due to her ranking. On the fighting areas, Jessica Lynn Lee confirmed expectations by winning decisively against the Mexican Karla with a score of 2 rounds to 0 (11-0, 7-6). A controlled performance that logically opens the doors to regional competition for her. Sean Jaylen Laloan completes the trio of qualifiers, consolidating an overall encouraging campaign for Haiti.
