Northeast: Activities at a standstill at CODEVI

On Monday, April 13, 2026, operations were severely disrupted at the CODEVI industrial park in Ouanaminthe, where thousands of workers began a three-day strike to protest their deteriorating living conditions and the authorities’ inaction in the face of a socio-economic crisis deemed unsustainable.

At the call of several labor unions, including SORENE, SOTRACO, SYNOCO, and UTRACO, workers massively stopped work to make their demands heard. This mobilization, announced several days prior, comes amid a rising cost of living and the lack of concrete responses from public authorities.
