Dr. Ricardo Jean-Baptiste promises to modernize the ambulance system in Haiti.

The Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) officially installed Dr. Ricardo Jean-Baptiste as Director General of the National Ambulance Center (CAN) during a ceremony held in Mais-Gâté.

This appointment comes in a context marked by numerous challenges, including a lack of resources, fragile infrastructure, and the issue of nearly 200 employees still awaiting payment.

The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Sinal Bertrand, praised the profile of the new director, highlighting his experience in public management. He also called on him to undertake reforms, particularly in regulating first aid schools and improving the internal functioning of the institution.

For his part, the outgoing director, Renand Aristide, provided an account of his tenure at the head of the CAN, while wishing full success to his successor.
