The Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) concluded an intensive training week in Les Cayes on Saturday, March 21. Intended for journalists from the Grand South, this initiative aims to strengthen their economic skills and encourage the creation of income-generating activities.
The governor of the BRH, Ronald Gabriel, welcomed the success of this edition. According to him, this program is part of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy. The goal is to train media professionals capable of understanding economic policies while launching their own entrepreneurial projects. Over five days, more than twenty participants attended various modules: digital marketing, credit file preparation, and business launch strategies. They also explored the functioning of the foreign exchange market and the opportunities offered by the “Booster SME” program. Unlike traditional training, this session focused on diversifying journalists’ income. Florient Jean Mari, coordinator of the BRH Training Institute, emphasized the importance of these skills in the current crisis context. The central bank thus reaffirms its commitment to supporting development.
