Donald Trump stated on Friday that the United States could “open” the Strait of Hormuz and “take the oil” with “a little more time,” without specifying how he planned to do so.

“With a little more time, we could easily OPEN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ, GET OUR HANDS ON THE OIL AND STRIKE IT RICH. IT WOULD BE A +Boon+ FOR THE WHOLE WORLD,” the American president wrote on his social network Truth Social. The message does not say how the United States could end Iran’s control over this strategic waterway or which oil it is referring to.
