Change in Government: Is it for the people, or is it the leaders who are protecting their “food”?

A director general would offer three houses and several million to keep his position.

The state is in the midst of a major reshuffle at the government level and at the top of the general directorates. While the population awaits clear signals about security and election preparations, there is information that suggests that behind the scenes, a “eat me to death” battle is taking place to hold onto positions.

‎Edit or political stunt?
‎Officially, the rhetoric is nice: they say these changes are necessary to make the state more efficient, to curb insecurity, and to create an environment that allows for the organization of serious elections. However, the reality seems far from these nice words. For many observers, it is a game of musical chairs in which people are simply moved to satisfy the interests of partisans or political friends.

‎While the people are languishing in poverty and hunger, where the price of a bag of rice is climbing 30\%, the question arises: Where are the real priorities?

‎The “Three Houses and Millions” Scandal: When Leaders Fear Losing Their Paradise
‎What’s worse, information coming from reliable sources indicates that a Director General (DG) of a major state institution is ready to make any sacrifice to avoid losing his seat. They talk about a “gift” offer that would include three beautiful houses and several million gourdes to those with decision-making power, just so he can stay in his post.

‎If this story is verified, it would mean:
‎State money is being wasted: Where does an official find the means to offer three houses and millions if not from State coffers or through strange activities?

‎Elections are a joke: If someone is fighting like this for a position, it’s because he knows that’s where the “food” is, he has no interest in the country stabilizing so that elections can be held.

‎Corruption has deep roots: This shows that the changes being announced are not based on competence, but on the ability of the person to “stir up” those at the top.

‎What do the people benefit from?
‎While the bigwigs are negotiating houses worth millions to stay in their jobs, mothers and fathers in the poor neighborhoods are left wondering who to call holy. The police are short of resources, hospitals are cemeteries, and schools are closing.

‎If the government wants the people to believe in its good faith, it must stop protecting those suspected of corruption and put people with clean hands at the top of its institutions. Otherwise, these “changes” will remain a mere masquerade to allow a small group to continue sucking the blood of the nation.

‎In a country where justice is at work, a Director General who is capable of offering three houses to stay in his post should be the first person the ULCC (Unit for the Fight Against Corruption) visits
