The U.S. Chief of Staff, General Dan Caine, stated on Wednesday that the United States armed forces were “ready” to resume fighting with Iran if the truce between the two countries ended.

“Let’s be clear, a ceasefire is a pause, and the armed forces remain ready, if ordered or called upon, to resume combat operations with the same speed and precision that we have demonstrated over the past 38 days,” the general added during a press conference alongside the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth.
