During the 2010 elections, the then Electoral Council had registered 49 parties, 13 associations, and 3 political coalitions, for a total of 65 political organizations across the territory. For the 2015 elections, there was a total (approved and unapproved) of 188 political parties and associations. In 2026, the CEP registers 320 political structures.
